Paralan Corporation, founded in 1988, is dedicated to expanding
the horizons of the Small Computer System Interface (SCSI). Paralan produces
products that expand the use of SCSI, from conversion of one type implementation
to another (e.g. LVD to HVD), to extending the bus length through the use of
copper or fiber optic cable.
- editor's comments:- although parallel SCSI was superseded by
SATA and
SAS more than 10
years ago for new enterprise designs - you can still get
(parallel) SCSI SSDs
to support legacy designs in
industrial and
military markets. And
if you're using that old parallel stuff - then you still have to be careful
about the cables. I guess that's why Paralan is still in business.
