ioSafe entered the SSD market in January 2010 -
when it launched the
ioSafe Solo SSD - an ultra rugged USB
/ eSATA external flash SSD with upto 256GB capacity ($1,250) designed to
provide data protection against disasters such as fire, flood, and building
collapse.
The ruggedness of ioSafe's SSD was featured in BBC tv news
- in a video clip which can be seen below. |

That was one of just a handful
of videos which made it into my
SSD videos shortlist
of videos which say something worthwhile about the SSD market.
The SSD
backup market attracted very little vendor interest in
2010 -
although I think it will become one of the major segments in the SSD market by
2016 - for reasons explained in my article -
