ABC Data Recovery, based in Sheffield in the UK was founded in
2005.
The team behind the company has a wealth of experience gained
over many years and are very respected not only in the UK data recovery sector,
but also in the wider global arena.
The focus of the company has
been to provide high quality but cost effective data recovery services not only
to its UK client base but also to many of the international companies it serves,
and continued investment into research and development as well as investment in
its facilities including a clean room environment (which exceeds the current
industry standards) means that ABC data recovery is set to continue to provide
high standards of service to both the recovery businesses it supports and to end
clients.
With nationwide coverage and a central lab based in
Sheffield ABC provide a full gamut of recovery services including flash memory
recovery, hard drive repair and recovery and raid data recovery and disaster
recovery solutions.

Data Recovery - editor mentions on STORAGEsearch.com
Editor's
comments:- December 2009 - ABC's Managing Director - Andy
Butler - has written many short articles about various
aspects of
the data recovery market.
It's quite common for data recovery
companies to spread their pearls of wisdom throughout the web as part of their
search-engine-optimization strategy. That's because advertising to potential
customers has a lot in common with ambulance chasing. Nobody realises they
should pay attention to the DR ads - because they don't think it will happen to
them.
Aptly illustrating this point - their
customer testimonials
page includes this quote...
"A huge thank you for
recovering the photos from my XD card. I was very impressed by your service and
whilst I hope (in the nicest possible way) that I will never need you again, I
know where you are!"
Their RAID recovery page lists a wide range
of problems you
hope you'll never encounter, but the details suggest they have.
One
of my favourite tv programs (because I moved at the height of the property boom
to a much bigger house) used to be UK Channel 4 TV's
Location,
Location, Location. And I guess if you're based near Sheffield - that's
another good reason to consider this company.
And here's a final
note completely unrelated to data storage.
While writing this, I found
an entertaining guide to
Sheffield
sayings and rhymes. One of ABC's customers did write a rhyme in their
testimonial page. Publishing endorsements at poetry meetings could be a new way
of marketing data recovery services that deserves future research. I'm
guessing that poets don't do many backups (just like most people - in fact).
That's the kind of endorsement which can last longer than the original industry
itself!
PPS - and while we're on the subject of marketing...
Take a look at Marketing
Nomenclature, and the Naming of Names. Companies obviously choose names
like "ABC etc etc" so they get listed top in directories. But there
are other reasons for choosing names too.
However, Andy Butler made a
good point on seeing my comment - that even if he had adopted a conservative
naming scheme - such as "Andy Butler's Company" - it would still have
produced "ABC".
How did we get here? - I don't know. It's a
distraction from
data recovery. My
to-do list this morning included writing an article about the MRAM market. It's
7.30 pm and I haven't even started it yet. Good luck in your own search. |

| Data Recovery - the Guide
We Hope You'll Never Need |
Editor:- as readers know - we
like predicting future storage
market changes here on StorageSearch.com
and then going back a few years later to see what actually happened.
But
sadly, there's one kind of
storage event which you
can't plan for...
...When disaster strikes and you need a data recovery
company.
Our
Data Recovery page
includes profiles for over 50 companies, articles, guides for both consumer and
server data recovery and also news about the market.
In more than
decade covering the data recovery market I've learned the experts in this field
can fix products ranging from a single drive to every critical disk in an
affected area.
Some of the data recovery techniques were originally
developed by intelligence agencies (who wanted to be able to read data in
RAMs after the power was
switched off, and disk
drives after they had been wiped). You know what I mean... Spooks.
While other technologies stemmed from research by storage oems into factors
affecting storage
reliability.
Damage can be due to many accidental causes -
including physical shock, fire, flood, chemical attack etc.
One thing
which may surprise you is it's possible to make things even worse! So it's
important to read some of these articles before you try any remedial action
yourself - and that includes how you handle and store the affected drives. |

Depending on their
competency, DR companies can recover data from hard disks, tapes, optical drives
and even some flash memory devices and mobile phones. | | | | |
