Editor's comments:- - June 2014 - It is anticipated that Hynix will soon enter the enterprise SSD market - leveraging the PCIe SSD product line it acquired recently from Violin. However - Hynix's SSD overview page was still a content free zone and under construction when I looked recently.

In August 2010 - Hynix Semiconductor announced it has selected Anobit's SSD controller technology to operate with its own 20nm class NAND Flash chips for use in a new SSD design.

In May 2014 - Hynix acquired Violin Memory's line of PCIe SSDs - for $23 million.

More smoke than fire at SK Hynix memory plant
Editor:- September 5, 2013 - Yesterday there was widely reported speculation about the possible market impact of a fire at an SK Hynix memory plant - which makes upto 15% of the world's DRAM chips.

In a clarification statement reported by Reuters the company said there was no material damaage to the clean rooms and SK Hynix anticipated that supply volumes would not be materially affected.

Editor's comments:- 3 weeks ago it was announced that 16nm flash from SK Hynix is the main memory building block in Skyera's 1U half petabyte skyEagle SSD rack.
